Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is looking to strengthen its presence in Europe.
Luxury hotel brands to be added Hotel Lutetia in Paris and Conservatorium Hotel to Amsterdam’s worldwide network of ultra-luxury hotels. Following the anticipated closing of the transaction, Hotel Lutetia will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris. The Conservatorium Hotel will undergo extensive renovations and be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium Amsterdam in January 2026.
“Mandarin Oriental is committed to being the world leader in luxury hospitality,” Laurent Kreitman, group chief executive officer of Mandarin Oriental, said in a statement. “These new long-term management agreements with two of Europe’s great historic hotels are central to our strategy to expand and strengthen our brand presence in destinations around the world that appeal to our fans. ”

Hotel Lutetia dates back to the early 1900s and is located on the Left Bank, where Mandarin is already spoken. Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who designed the Mandarin Oriental, Paris, also designed the $200 million-plus, four-year renovation of Hotel Lutetia, which was completed in 2018. This 184-room property (including 47 suites) is one of Paris’ famous palaces. The same goes for the Mandarin Oriental, Paris hotel.
Mr. Kleitman said: “With the opening of two Palace Hotels in Paris soon (one on the Left Bank and one on the Right Bank), we proudly reaffirm our continued commitment to the French hospitality market and welcome our guests. We want to create attractive options for people.”

Amsterdam’s Conservatorium Hotel opened in 2011 and is a popular contemporary accommodation housed in a historic building that was previously a bank and then a conservatory. This hotel has 129 rooms and suites and is located in the heart of the Dutch capital, close to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum.
Mandarin Oriental intends to maintain the “unique character and local cultural essence” of both properties. The two hotels are owned by Locka Holding BV and are also members of the Set Collection.
“Similarly, the addition of Conservatorium Hotels to our portfolio will bring a new dimension to our presence in major European capitals, where we will offer world-class hotels in cities that value luxury and tradition.” We are already well versed in providing this service,” added Kreitman.
News of the expansion comes days after Mandarin Oriental leaders also announced plans. Expanding the brand’s ultra-luxury vacation rental offeringproving that this luxury company is clearly ambitious in offering a wide variety of products to guests all over the world.
