Imagine not doing much, just sitting around and people coming to you with lots of money.
This is essentially what’s happening to people who own laundry detergent vending machines at laundromats.
He posted a video about the situation on October 13th, which has since been viewed nearly 2 million times and received more than 170,000 likes.
A video from the Laundromat Money TikTok account (@laundromatmoney) reveals that selling small boxes of detergent in a vending machine can be a great source of passive income if you can make it happen.
The TikToker begins by explaining that the soap vending machine in the video is part of his domain, saying, “Today I’m going to refill it and see how much I’ve made in the last two weeks.” said.

He went on to explain, “I buy little boxes online for about 60 cents each and sell them for $1.25.”
“I buy these boxes online from a website called Cleaner Supply because they have free shipping and they deliver them right to my laundromat,” he continues.
The video shows him himself extracting quarters from the machine, many of which coalesce around the Tide side, which is his best seller. This machine brought in about $375 worth of quarterly sales over about two weeks.
“I think if I priced these boxes more, people would still buy them, but I’m making twice the money now,” he says. “So, that’s enough for now.”
Several commenters praised him for having a particular brand and saying it’s for people with sensitive skin or eczema, even though it’s his worst-selling product. Told.
One commenter said, “As someone who has sensitive skin and can only use free clear detergents, I’m grateful they keep the oars on hand.”
“Thank you for carrying All Free & Clear,” another person replied. “This is all I can use.”
“If any of you have sensitive skin, bless your hearts right away. Anything with fragrance causes me tremendous pain,” someone else chimed in.
Another commenter brought up a completely different issue.
“I’m collecting lots and guys,” someone said, “what I wouldn’t give to be able to get through these lots!!”
“Do you take all your quarters to the bank?” one person wondered. “Would you like to put the sleeves through first?”
“Would you use that money as coins or is there a process to convert large amounts of coins into banknotes?” someone else wondered.
“All these plots keep circulating through the exchange machines,” another official explained. “He takes cash from those machines.”
The Daily Dot reached out to the creator via a comment on TikTok.
