When does Khris Middleton play?
The three-time All-Star sprained his ankle against Phoenix on Feb. 6 and missed the final five games before the All-Star break. Rivers did not practice Thursday in Minneapolis, and he said he will play tonight against the Timberwolves and “probably” play in Sunday’s matinee road game against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, Middleton had a walk-through on Thursday and did light court work the final two days. That was enough for Rivers to say Middleton could play in a playoff series.
The Bucks will return home on February 27th, exactly three weeks after the injury, to face the Charlotte Hornets.
Before the Bucks faced the Timberwolves, Rivers acknowledged how much of a loss Middleton was, especially since there was no one on the team outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard who could replicate the shot creativity Middleton brings. ” because he said he was not there.
“No one else can do what Chris is doing,” Rivers said. “We already have Dame, we have Giannis, we have a lot of guys who can catch and shoot. Malik (Beasley) is a great catch and shoot player. Bobby (Portis) is beating them up. Brook. (Lopez) He obviously does that. (Gallinari) He can do that. ‘Gal’ might be the guy who can create with his elbows and stuff. He’s a very good passer. But for us, it’s just empty. There’s no need to try. We don’t have anyone on our team that can do that, so please fill it. ”
