Last year, a fire broke out in a cupboard at P-Beau’s in Denham Springs the weekend before Halloween.
After more than a year, the restaurant is back in business, with a grand opening this Tuesday.
“Opening a restaurant is difficult, but bringing an existing concept into an existing building was equally difficult,” said chef and restaurateur Peter Sclafani. “It’s been really tough, but I’m really happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Prior to the fire, Peter Sclafani said his team had just finished renovating the interior of P-Beau’s. It remained open for six weeks until smoke damage from a fire forced it to be renovated again.
P-Beau’s is part of the Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group by partners Sclafani and Kiva Guidroz, which also includes SoLou and Portobello’s Grill.
Before the fire, Sclafani said his team had just finished renovating the restaurant’s interior. It remained open for six weeks until smoke damage from a fire forced it to be renovated again.
The space currently includes a mural, a TV area above the bar, a patio, and more. Customers will notice some changes to the menu, but Sclafani said 85% of it will remain the same.

P-Beau’s reopens this week with a new menu and decor.
New pasta dishes like crawfish Maria, Creole carbonara and barbecue shrimp were also featured at this month’s St. Francisville Food and Wine Festival.
“It took me a really long time to get back, but I’m finally back. The team is really excited,” he said.
P-Beau’s is located at 121 Bass Pro Blvd., Denham Springs.
