London: British carmaker Bentley has become the latest luxury brand to announce sales records reported by PA Media/dpa.
The Crewe-based company, founded in 1919, says it delivered 15,174 vehicles last year.
This was a 4% increase over 2021, driven by record demand in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Rolls-Royce said on Monday it delivered a record 6,021 cars last year. This is an 8% increase over the previous year.
Bentley attributes its “significant” sales to the popularity of new models, hybrid models and personalized vehicles.
Adrian Hallmark, CEO of the company owned by the Volkswagen Group, said:
“This highlights our brand strength, operational excellence and strong global demand by market and model.
“The reaction to the market launch of Flying Spur’s hybrid model, which joined Bentayga last year, shows the way the luxury sector is heading, and we are firmly in the forefront.
“These figures demonstrate not only our industry-leading sales and market share, but also our investment in electrical technology and our commitment to achieving net carbon neutrality by 2030.”
