Luke Bryan spoke with Extra’s Alecia Davis at the 17th Annual Academy of Country Music Honorary Awards ceremony, where he accepted the ACM Lifting Lives Award.
He thanked his wife, Caroline, for steering him when it came to his charitable efforts and said he felt “blessed” to be able to give back to others.
“That’s a big thing that Caroline and I share together because the whole philanthropy side of our lives, she’s been at the helm on that as well. Giving back has always felt like the right thing to do and it’s such an honor.”
He added: “I’ve always felt so blessed to be able to do this and that it’s all been given to me directly from God and that I have to give back in some small way.”
Luke also spoke about Carrie Underwood joining the judging panel on “American Idol” and said he can’t wait to work with her.
When asked how he would support Carrie, Brian emphasized, “Carrie has all the tools she needs to navigate. If she can win American Idol, then I think she definitely has the qualifications to be a judge.”
The singer continued, “Her career trajectory and everything she’s done to date is so incredible. I can’t wait to sit on the judges’ table with her. She’s so much more than a first-class artist. I can’t wait to work with her.”
The ACM Honors will air on Merit Street on September 24th.
