Lucien Laviscount stole the hearts of fans as Alfie in “Emily of Paris.” And now he’s appearing in the new rom-com “Next Year” based on Sophie Kusens’ beloved New York Times bestseller. He cooked with Melvin Robert from “Extra” in the film and worked on “Emily in Paris.”
Lucian, who continues “Emily of Paris,” said he “is blessed to be part of a ride, part of the journey. I was supposed to do two episodes. They let me get around. I kept it. I wasn’t supposed to be there anymore than a few episodes.”
He continued. “It was an incredible journey. The whole writing team, the cast, the crew, we can film in Paris. Honestly, the time spent on the show, the guy, I’m in Emily, Paris. Not Emily, I work two days a week, and I’m in Paris for the rest of it… it was absolute and joy and treat to be part of something so special.”
In “Next Year’s This Time”, he plays Quinn Hamilton. He said he was not familiar with famous books when he was cast.
Laviscount said, “I read the script and said, ‘Yes, this is great.’ It’s more than just rom-com. I said it to my friend and said, “Have you read a book?” And she died on the phone. She was like, “Lucian, whatever you do in life, you’re doing this movie!” I was like, “Okay, okay, okay.” ”
He added: “I was in London at the time, on the tube and talking about signs. I’m sure I’d passed two girls sitting reading a book.
Speaking about his personality, Lucian said, “Quinn has these layers to him. It looks like he’s on the shell that has it all together… but he’s not like he’s It’s like dealing with a lot of things that don’t throw away, and I think that’s one of the things that really drew me towards the character. I think we all had a show. This look is all about It’s cool, everything is good. No one wants to talk about the true gritty of real life.”
He continued. How do they have to go and understand their BS before they dive into this together? ”
He confided, saying that it was something he could relate to. I think that’s the truth. I think life is too short. ”
