Extra spoke with Lucasfilm Executive Creative Director Dave Filoni at the Disneyland premiere of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Dave, the series’ executive producer, spoke about the challenges and joys of bringing The Skeleton Crew to the screen.
He said of the Star Wars project: [creators] I’ve had great collaborators in Jon Watts and Chris Ford. They just dove into this, and Jon Favreau and I loved their idea and wanted to support them through it. ”
Filoni said the series brings a sense of “adventure” and “a sense of wonder and excitement about the unknown,” adding, “I love how it turned out.”
He also talked about working on the film The Mandalorian and Grogu with Favreau, but couldn’t reveal much.
“I’m really looking forward to it too,” Dave said. “John and I, as always, had a great time working on this piece. It was great to meet Grogu. He became such a star, and how it evolved, It’s amazing what we can do with puppetry now compared to season 1 and where we are today in film working with the team that I worked with quite a bit on puppetry. Legacy Effects did a great job and what a great little creation Grogu is.”
Additionally, Dave gave a positive update on the status of “Ahsoka” Season 2.
“I’m very into it too…I’ve been writing it, and I’m still writing it by myself, so I’m enjoying it, but of course it’s a challenge, and some of the work is It’s been a challenge to go through these arcs, and it’s been difficult to make sure everything comes to fruition in a way that’s exciting for fans. I know you’re interested in where some of the stuff we’ve developed is going. I’m very happy with it…I love working with Rosario. [Dawson]So I can’t wait to get back to that. ”
