The Communication Sciences and Disabilities Program is pleased to announce that Lexi Catalin, a Licensed and Certified Speech-Language Pathologist, has joined the Undergraduate and College Speech-Learning Hearing Clinics. She will provide pediatric language services at the Speech-Hearing Clinic beginning this fall and will supervise graduate and undergraduate clinicians.
A native of Oklahoma and of Cherokee descent, Catalyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern State University and a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Australia. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Special Education. She has clinical experience as a self-employed speech-language pathologist and as a speech-language pathologist in private practice and school-based settings. She has conducted assessments and interventions in the areas of speech, language, fluency, expansive and alternative communication, and pragmatics. In all these areas she plans to provide clinical education at the Speech-Hearing Clinic. Her research interests include the comprehensive practice of speech pathologists in school-based settings.
Catalyn is a member of the American Speech-Hearing Association and holds a Certificate of Clinical Proficiency. She is also licensed in speech pathology and audiology through the Arkansas Board of Examinations. “I am thrilled to be joining the University of Arkansas’ Communication Sciences and Disability Program,” Catherine said.
