At Leftovers, we highlight some of the product ideas that pop up here and there. Some are interesting, some sound great, and some are types of ideas we wouldn’t even dream of. I can’t write about everything that has been sent to me. So here are some remaining excerpts from my inbox.
Fresh Del Monte debuts ruby glow pineapple
Recently, unique fruit products such as grapples and grape cotton candy have been gaining popularity for consumer diversity. Fresh Del Monte’s new fruit aims to stand out by bringing a pop of color to the produce aisle.

From farm to bar: Lalabar Utilizing recycled almonds for new lineup
General Mills’ Rarabar Company is capitalizing on the growing demand for environmentally friendly foods with its latest launch.
The brand’s trail mix bar line features a star ingredient: almonds, sourced from farms that use regenerative agriculture practices. There are three types: Peanut Butter & Jelly, Dark Chocolate Peanut, and Chocolate Coconut Macaron. According to the brand, the trail mix bars feature a “crunchy” texture.
In the release, Lalabar He said he sourced 80,000 pounds of recycled almonds to make the first batch of bars. It plans to increase its almond purchases to 250,000 pounds. The brand says 51 percent of the almonds used in its bars are regenerably grown. The bars are also gluten-free and non-GMO.
