The Eagles had several key players back on the field for practice Thursday as they prepare to face the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football.
Lane Johnson (ankle) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) were listed as absent earlier in the week but returned to the field Sunday. That’s an encouraging sign.
Johnson and Smith participated in individual drills during the portion of practice that was open to reporters. Johnson lined up on the offensive line at his usual right tackle spot. After participating in some stretches, Smith briefly stepped inside. However, he returned for private practice.
While Johnson and Smith practiced, safety Reed Blankenship (ribs) was a spectator and nickel cornerback Bradley Roby (shoulder) was not in attendance.
The Eagles have been plagued by a plethora of injuries in the secondary this season, and that continued into Week 7.
All four players who were limited on Wednesday practiced Thursday: Darius Slay (knee), Jalen Carter (ankle), Dallas Goedert (groin) and Milton Williams (ankle).
Three players who were limited Wednesday were also practicing: Sidney Brown (hamstring), Marlon Tuipulotu (triceps) and Eli Ricks (knee).
The Eagles started the week with a walkthrough on Wednesday, their first practice since losing to the Jets. It was also the first chance to see Julio Jones in an Eagles jersey.
