It was confirmed a few days ago that Lady Gaga won’t be performing her Oscar-nominated song “Hold My Hand” on the movie’s biggest night, surprise! sing.
variety confirmed Gaga, who is filming ‘Joker: For a Do’ with Joaquin Phoenix, will make a surprise appearance on tonight’s Oscar telecast.
Her “Top Gun: Maverick” theme song “Hold My Hand” has been voted Best Original Song.
Just four days ago, showrunner Glenn Weiss confirmed that Gaga would not be participating, saying, “We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She’s in the middle of filming a movie right now. Here, we salute the film industry and what it takes to make a film after going back and forth so many times…so that she can get the performance of the caliber we’re used to. I didn’t feel it. I’m used to it. So she’s not going to be on the show.”
It is unclear if she will appear at the venue or if she will appear from afar.
