About a month after Kris Jenner’s sister Karen Houghton passed away at the age of 65, the cause of her death has been announced.
According to the death certificate, obtained by TMZ, Horton died of cardiac arrest and sudden arrhythmia.
Type 2 diabetes has been cited as a contributing factor.
The documents also revealed that Horton had been battling bipolar disorder.
The document noted that Mr. Horton was cremated.
According to a report from TMZ, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department received a call on March 15 at 1:30 p.m. By the time they arrived at the scene, the fire department was already on the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Horton was unable to survive.
Chris paid tribute to his sister by posting a photo of a merry-go-round on Instagram.
She writes: “It is with a very heavy heart and deep sadness that her sister Karen passed away suddenly yesterday. My heart breaks for my mother MJ and my niece Natalie and I wish God could help us all through this difficult time. I pray that you will guide me.”
Chris continued, “Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was so sweet, so kind, so sensitive and vulnerable, and so funny. She always had an appreciation for her life and loved her family. He cherished his family and friends, especially his beautiful daughter.
“She holds a huge part of my heart and I cherish all the memories we had together. Karen’s death is a reminder that life is so short and precious and that tomorrow is not promised. We must tell those we care about how much we love them. I love you, my beautiful sister.”
The sisters have publicly had their ups and downs, with Karen famously having plastic surgery done in 2016 to look like Chris. They seemed to have reconciled when they posed for a family photo in 2019.
