Kevin Costner’s estranged wife Christine Baumgartner has some bad news!
On Wednesday, a judge ordered her to pay $14,237.50 in legal fees, per TMZ. report.
Last month, Kevin’s well-known lawyer, Laura Wasser, asked Christine if she understood the prenuptial agreement she signed. This question is important because Christine is likely to challenge her premarital sex.
According to court documents, Kevin and Christine’s lawyers exchanged over the word “I understand” resulting in more than $14,000 in legal fees.
Just a few days ago, Kevin granted Christine $63,209 after he requested $161,592 a month in child support.
Christine, who lives in a $40,000-per-month rental, testified last week that she plans to learn how to support herself financially in the future. She told the court, “I will consider the steps I should take and the education I need, and then I will get a job.”
As for Kevin, “I already have obligations. I have a lot of responsibilities.”
He continued, “I have to think about how I can spend more time with my kids and explain this process to them. I’m going to need to take some time for myself… reflect. I have a lot to do – what I want to do have what to do and what to do want to do. “
Baumgartner filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage.
