The new movie Fool’s Paradise features a line-up of Hollywood celebrities, including the late Ray Liotta’s last film appearance.
Extra’s Terry Seymour spoke with two of the film’s stars, Kate Beckinsale and Ken Jeong.
“This is my favorite part of my film career,” said Ken.
“This is why I quit my medical job as a doctor — to act. You want to live for moments like this. And I got Kate out of this. And, this impressive cast.
Ken plays a hapless publicist who discovers a recently released mental patient. The patient is played by Charlie Day, the film’s writer and director.
Kate said the film represents what Hollywood is like. “It’s a surreal version of Hollywood, and he’s in the 1940s even today.”
“Fools Paradise” has some real-life vibes, but Ken says his part was “really all Charlie’s creation.”
On “Extra,” the “Crazy Rich Asians” actor also talked about how his character’s story in “Fool’s Paradise” evolved through the making of the film.
“I was comically in love with my high-energy manic. This character is high-energy and married…it gets deeper and more emotional as we go “It became,” Ken explained. [Day] I rewrote a fair amount of the film. My character had a more emotional core. ”
Back in England, Judy, Kate’s mom and favorite Insta-video co-star, was careful not to miss the king’s coronation.
“I didn’t see it in real time, but my phone memory is destroyed because my mom is really worried about me experiencing the UK in real time,” Kate said. “My mother is recording five hours of video of her on TV.”
The ‘Pearl Harbor’ star said it would take time to get used to the idea of having a ‘King Charles’.
“I’m not quite there yet. It’s going to take me a while. I still love my record player. It takes me a long time to get used to new things…I still miss my record player and I have an iPhone 14. , it took that long.”

Ken also shared his thoughts on the royal family’s special day, calling it “clearly an incredibly historic one, a beautiful one.”
Fool’s Paradise hits theaters on May 12th.
