After winning the AFC Championship Game that led the team to Super Bowl LVII, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was hired by St. Augustine University Health Sciences alum Julie Fryer, DPT, Chiefs Assistant Athletic. I gave props to my trainer/physiotherapist.

“Thanks to Julie, I was on the field today! We need everyone, but she’s been in control all week!” He tweeted after his victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on 2016 and advanced the team to the Super Bowl finals.
The 2020 Super Bowl MVP sprained his ankle in a playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and wasn’t sure if he’d make it through the postseason. After that game, it was Julie Flameyer who designed and carried out the critical rehabilitation of Mahomes’ ankle.
An injury may have kept him on the bench for weeks, but after just a week of PT under Julie’s close guidance and care, he was able to play against the Cincinnati Bengals…and The rest might just be making history. )
This isn’t the first time the team has recognized Julie’s contributions to the game. In a video released by the Kansas City Chiefs in January (see below), the team’s vice president of sports medicine and performance, Rick Burkholder, praised Julie’s educational standards and said: said like this.

Julie Frymyer received her PhD in Physical Therapy from USAHS in 2012. Prior to joining the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 as an assistant athletic trainer/physiotherapist, he worked primarily in college sports. According to the recent Wall Street Journal article About her titled “The Woman Who Saved Patrick Mahomes’ Season,” Julie was not only now in the professional leagues, but she was also highly regarded in college sports.
Charlie Thompson, principal athletic trainer at Princeton University, was quoted as saying, “I basically didn’t have to work because everyone wanted to see Julie.”
With the Chiefs, she worked with former tackle Mitchell Schwartz, quickly treated a painful back injury, and connected with other players by understanding and empathizing with other players’ problems, cementing her reputation. She earned Mahomes’ trust when she oversaw his rehab after sustaining a toe injury a few years ago.he calls her on social media interview It shows the extent of her treatment for her recent ankle injury. Ice, heat, electrostimulators, and lateral movement work with the bandaccording to a Wall Street Journal article, contributed to his performance in the AFC title game and the team’s Super Bowl berth.
