In front of attack coordinator Josh Grizzard Let Bucs attacks be “to the next level.” He has to learn the ropes for the NFL play call.
Doing so means that it will be extensively tested by manager Todd Bowles before the season during the pre-season call it.
After helping Dave Canales make a call to the play as his first offensive coordinator in 2023, Grizzard sets out the challenge of learning the ropes from facing what the veteran defensive mind throws his way. looking forward to it.

The biggest lock is set in Josh Grizard as an offensive coordinator, but other pieces must be placed before directing Bucs attacks. Grizzard will spend the next few months adjusting and revamping the scheme to accommodate the various offseason additions and players already on the roster. He then has to call out the play on the sidelines or decide if it’s coming out of the box.
He has spent time watching the game from each perspective, which is what he will decide for the next few months.
“That’s a good question,” Grizard said Thursday afternoon. “At the moment, I’m not positive about that. We’ll work together on Spring and training camp to decide on the best way to do it. For now, I couldn’t say either of them. I’m on the field coaching receivers. [with the Dolphins] Replacement processing. I was in the box to help Liam. [Coen] Last year, I will report on the nature of this. We just see what it goes, I was talking [head] coach [Todd] The Bowles actually have the opportunity to call out plays in the spring and fall, trying to get as many reps as possible before they enter the season. ”
Grizzard then shared more about how those calls are incredibly valuable. That was what he talked to Bowles in his interview.

“It’s not one of the first things, but we discussed it in a way that allows practice to feel like a game,” Grizzard said. “We always talk about it with the players. For the first time, being in that position to call the play, what the amount of people like, the walks of life are incredibly valuable, so it’s the most fun thing in the world. I have a lot of friends who say that, so I look forward to it.”
It would be a fun challenge, but the veteran head coach won’t make it easy for him. He should expect every exotic blitz imaginable blink, as the kitchen sink is thrown into him.
Ultimately, it prepares him for a long season.
“We’ll prepare not only the coaching staff, but also the coaching staff, like last year. ‘What’s the answer to picking up these blitz?” Grizzard said when he spoke to the media after the press conference. . “‘What’s the best thing you can do to try to handle it?” And then, now that we’ve seen all these blitz, it really helps the players. We’ve been through these blitzers for months, so when we play someone in week 5, it’s like, “Hey, here’s the blitz that our defense brought to training camp. This is what we’re saying It’s a way to pick it up, and this is the plan we’ll pick it up again.”
Josh Grizzard: After becoming part of Bucs’ offensive game plan in 2024, “I’m confident in my abilities.”

Josh Grizzard wasn’t in charge of any particular position group in 2024, but he was a big part of the dialogue when it came to Liam Cohen’s offense. Up until this point, Grizzard was the third “Wizzard” last year, and is said to have led to the third best attack in the NFL. He did more behind the scenes.
He shared his involvement with those who could evolve play sequences and his thinking to take over play call duties.
“As a coach, when you first start doing this, all you’re doing is breaking down the tape and running the scout team,” Grizzard said. “Then when you’re coaching a position group, you’re running through the room and not thinking about it. Finally, for a couple of years, I started thinking about it – “What do you call it here?” ? Or if you’re designing the play, I’m confident in calling the play, as it’s not just “Hey, running was a good play rather than calling it in the game.” It evolved in my mind, and this past season has taken it to another level.

“From the receiver coach to the a [quality control coach]to participate in this game pass coordinator role. When we built the play, it was something I had constant dialogue with Liam. “Here’s a series of plays. There’s probably a great play to start a series.” It’s also the entire coaching staff, and it’s not just us two. Anyone can do it. ”
Grizard then spoke about what changes were in the play window of call on the third down and what additional play callers are sure to help him.
“We’re splitting it with a certain window, so at the third downs, to your point,” Grizzard said. “The players have a good idea. At least Baker has a good idea when he’s in that third down window. “This is what we’re hoping for from this.” Now They hit us with this report. “How will you fight next time?”
“I was able to do that last year, and I’m confident in my ability to prepare like that, so that I can get some points for these guys. We will give as many people as possible to do so.”
Josh Grizzard is plenty on his plate, but what allows him to grow into a successful offensive coordinator is to the way Todd Bowles plans how to stop him, and he’s in the spot. And start how to learn and adjust. That’s all he can understand what he’s against in 2025.
