This week, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner joined the growing ranks of celebrity couples who announced divorce or breakup this summer, but the news still shocked fans. Marion Cotillard.
The Jonas camp seems to have heard the news first. TMZ cited an anonymous source on Tuesday, placing the blame subtly on Turner. “She likes to party and he likes to stay home. They have completely different lifestyles.”
Jonas, who filed for divorce in Miami, is a world-touring musician, so the statement is pretty flimsy. But it was frustrating to see the “bad mother” narrative start to push around Turner and amplify it. Claim Jonas is taking care of the children.

A joint statement was released on Wednesday, saying, “While there has been a lot of speculation as to why, this is truly a collective decision that everyone respects our wishes for the privacy of us and our children. I sincerely hope that you will come,” he said.

The couple married in 2019, when Turner was 23, and have since had two children. Turner, now 27 (Jonas is 34), has expressed disbelief that Mama Bear in the Berenstein Bears series is legally 27 and that she “should be in the club.” A meme was circulated in defense of Turner.
