Jennifer Lopez says she’s seen AI do “horrifying” things with her likeness.
Lopez’s latest film, “Atlas,” explores the possibilities of artificial intelligence, with the actor playing a data analyst who must rely on the technology to protect humanity from evil robots.
At the film’s premiere in Los Angeles last week, The star told Variety magazine: “I think the film does a good job of showing how AI can get things really wrong, and also how it can get things really right.”
Ms Lopez also shared her own first-hand experiences with the technology, saying she had seen adverts using digitally altered photos of her face to create “wrinkles” and sell “skin care products I know nothing about”.
“It’s really scary,” she said. “Right away they stole our faces. So, [AI] It’s really scary.”
Still, the singer said people should be “open to all the possibilities” of what it can offer.
“These films that talk about AI, and this one in particular, portray both sides very well,” she said.
“Atlas” is currently streaming on Netflix.
