New York City’s Top Luxury Real Estate Agents Official Partner. compass The firm said this week it was hiring Jared Schwadron, poaching him from the struggling brokerage firm founded by Tal and Oren Alexander.
Schwadron has generated more than $1 billion in sales during his 15-year career, which has included stints in New York, Miami and the Hamptons. In addition to being an official partner, Schwadron has previously worked with Douglas Elliman and The Corcoran Group.
“This move allows me to leverage my resources and tenure in the industry to build my own dynamic team,” Schwadron said in a statement. “Compass is setting new standards in technology and market reach, and I am excited to be part of its continued evolution.”
Officials have been under pressure since March when two women accused Oren and his brother, Alon Alexander, of rape and assault. A third woman filed a similar lawsuit in July, this time naming Tal as a defendant.
According to Real, At least 28 alleged victims have contacted the plaintiffs’ lawyers to make allegations of rape and assault, and many of Ofoffal’s business partners and representatives have since cut ties with him.
For Compass, the acquisition marks another step toward the company’s goal of capturing 30% market share in the 30 largest markets in the U.S. During the company’s second-quarter 2024 earnings call, CEO Robert Refkin said the company’s national market share had reached 5.13% and it was profitable for the first time as a publicly traded company.
Compass hasn’t disclosed which 30 markets it’s targeting, but New York City is likely one of them.
