I’m Eric Hovde: This is why I want Wisconsin’s vote for Senate

My reason for running for the United States Senate is simple. I love our country.

We are fortunate to live in America, which has provided its people with more civil liberties, prosperity, and freedom than any other country in the history of mankind.

Unfortunately, the policy failures of Mr. Biden, Mr. Harris, and Mr. Baldwin have moved our country in the wrong direction, especially over the past three and a half years.

Sometimes you just don’t recognize it anymore. What was right became wrong and what was wrong became right. We provide housing and cash to illegal immigrants while veterans sleep on the streets. They are also pushing radical policies that would allow boys to play women’s sports and have access to locker rooms and bathrooms.

I could no longer stand by and watch. I want to go to Washington to get things done. Because our country has many problems and we need people with the knowledge and skills to solve them, not career politicians.

First, I’m very concerned about financial security. The Biden-Harris administration, supported by my opponent, Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin, has added more debt and bankrupted our country in the last three and a half years than in our nation’s first 230 years of history. It’s starting to happen. When Sen. Baldwin arrived in Washington, our national debt was about $5 trillion. Today, that amount has reached nearly $36 trillion.

This reckless spending has driven inflation to the highest levels in 40 years, straining families in Wisconsin and across the country and driving up the prices of everything from food and rent to energy and health care. Inflation is always caused by excessive spending and money printing. The definition of inflation is too much money chasing a given amount of goods and services. We must address the debt and deficits that make life unaffordable for too many Americans and endanger the future of our children.

Domestic security is also a concern. Sen. Baldwin is promoting a dangerous “defund the police” movement that is creating unprecedented staffing problems for police departments and making our streets less safe.

Sen. Baldwin has also supported the Biden-Harris administration’s radical open border policies, which led to the worst border crisis in U.S. history. She went so far as to say, “We’re spending too much money on our southern border,” while voting in favor of giving cash payments to illegal immigrants.

Over the past three and a half years, well over 10 million illegal immigrants have entered our country, creating a myriad of major problems.

An open southern border has allowed criminal elements to enter our country. More than 13,000 undocumented immigrants have been convicted of murder in the United States, and more than 15,000 have been convicted of sexual assault, according to recent data from ICE. Dangerous open border policies have made all states, including Wisconsin, border states. A Venezuelan gang member was recently charged with sexual assault and child abuse after assaulting a mother and daughter in Prairie du Chien, a small town of just over 5,000 people in Wisconsin. My foundation works to save vulnerable children here in the United States and around the world, and has been actively fighting sex trafficking for over 20 years. Sadly, we can safely say that dangerous open borders have led the majority of these children to engage in the sex industry.

With the world in turmoil, international security has also become a major concern. I believe this all started with the incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan. It was the most embarrassing day of my life as an American. Thirteen Marines were killed, we left billions of dollars of military equipment in the hands of the Taliban, and we emboldened the enemy. I think our adversaries saw this weakness and acted on it. President Putin is against Ukraine, the Iranian Ayatollah is against Israel through their proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, and China is becoming more aggressive.

I also think our country is too divided. Politics has become so harsh that we live in our own echo chambers instead of trying to work together to solve the many problems facing this country. Sen. Baldwin voted in favor of the Biden-Harris administration 95.5% of the time. As a businessman, I understand the importance of working together and will always strive to find common-sense solutions without compromising the principle of putting the broader interests of the American people ahead of partisan politics. intend to.

Finally, unlike Senator Baldwin, who took money from Wall Street, Big Pharma, and Big Tech, I will not take their money and will only work for the people of Wisconsin. For too long, Washington has been run by corrupt career politicians.
