hello! My name is Audrey and I am not good at kitchen. My kitchen skills revolve around what I can throw into the crockpot.
But when it comes to the holiday season, I feel like baking bread no matter how badly I am. So I decided to research and try out six different celebrity cookie recipes to steal one of his to use every year and be the biggest hit at the holiday party.
Here are the celebrity cookie recipes we are testing.
First you need to buy the ingredients. I’ve broken down the price of each cookie below, but the total bill to make all six cookies (excluding honey, tartar cream, and baking soda, which I already had) was $74.08 (of which $13 was butter It was just that lol).
My dad came over to help me because I was trying 6 different cookies and I was busy during the holidays. Please note that I am not particularly good at baking. All of our family’s baking talent went to my grandma.
Danny Trejo’s recipe called for sifting the dry ingredients through a sieve, but all I had was this comically small one.
After the dough was ready, Trejo asked me to roll it up and dip it in a flour made from sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. It looked and smelled so good that I put the rest in a bag that her husband kept. Cinnamon toast is sprinkled on top of her crunch.
The cookies were supposed to be done in 10 minutes, but after about 8 minutes, I realized the oven was off because the cookies started smelling burnt (note: you can burn parchment paper. I didn’t know that). paper).
The cookie tasted great, but unfortunately the bottom was burnt. But they didn’t detract from the deliciousness of Mr. Trejo’s recipe.
For meringue, I know, just be patient and blend. Once the mixture is blended and stiff peaks form, drop the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake at 275° for 45 minutes.
When Mary Tyler Moore’s Almond Meringue came out, it was so fluffy it tasted like I was eating almond air.
Not much flavor, maybe that’s the point of meringue? I’m not a big fan of sweets so I enjoyed how delicate they were, but for anyone else looking for a cookie recipe rather than an edible cloud recipe, these aren’t for youMore .
we moved on Michelle Obamawinning chocolate chip cookie. These are the only cookies with shortening, which I believe is what makes the dough so light and fluffy.
These cookies, with walnuts and 3 types of chocolate chips, were thicker than the other cookies, so it was a little tricky to mix all the ingredients together.
I put them in the oven set lower than instructed and baked them again on a shorter timer than normal. My oven and I are currently at war.
Even when baked, Michelle Obama’s cookies were crowd favorites. They mixed many textures and tasted like traditional chocolate chip cookies. I had high hopes… but it didn’t, but it may have been my oven that burned the bottom.
I had the foresight to read the recipes and make sure the dough didn’t need to be chilled first before making. It took me two hours, so I’m glad I did.
cookie monsterThe sugar cookie dough was thick and resembled a crumbly shortbread-like consistency, but who would doubt such an industry expert?
For Cookie Monster, I had to roll out the dough and cut out the shapes. I only had a circular cookie cutter and a heart, but Meryl’s cookies were literally called “heart cookies,” so the cookie monster was circular. The dough was fresh out of the refrigerator, so it was very easy to work with.
I checked these cookies often and still got some crispy ones. I was so disappointed.
The Cookie Monster recipe is a great recipe for cookies with icing. It has a great texture and the flavor is a neutral base for you to top with anything sweet. It made cookies 6,000 times better.
next, Meryl Streepheart cookie. What’s interesting about Merrill’s recipe is that it contains no sugar. All the sweetness of cookies comes from honey.
I mixed the dough, divided it into 4 equal parts, wrapped it in plastic wrap and chilled it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, it was basically the consistency of a hockey puck, but melted as soon as I started kneading it with my hands. .
Merrill’s recipe makes five dozen cookies. I don’t know where she got her cookie cutters, but she struggled to cut out eight large heart-shaped cookies, so she can’t imagine how hard 60 is.
The Meryl Streep cookies out of the oven tasted like dog treats. Sorry they did. Sprinkling preservatives is not bad, but the cookies themselves are dry and tasteless.
at the end snoop dogRolls Royce Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. I had really high hopes for this one as it felt like the rest of the cookies flopped hard.
Snoop’s recipe was straightforward. Mix dry ingredients, mix wet ingredients, mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients. Scoop them up and make them.
Snoop did not disappoint! His cookies were soft and the peanut he butter to chocolate ratio was perfect. Overall, it was my favorite cookie, but five members of my family expressed conflicting opinions.
Last but not least, go to your local bakery or family bakery and hand them a handwritten thank you note. After baking cookies all day, I realize how exhausting it can be, and you can truly taste the love and craftsmanship in every bite.
