It’s a new day in America. For four years, Americans saw the Biden administration point their fingers at everyone but themselves due to the confusion they created, including the worst border crisis in our country’s history. . I serve Texas’s 23rd Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. From San Antonio to El Paso, the corner of our country spans 823 miles from the Texas-Mexico border. Eagle Pass, Del Rio and El Paso were all one of the biggest border communities within my district due to the surge in illegal immigration.
In the first year of President Joe Biden’s tenure, I waved him and provided him with olive branches, not only protecting our borders, but also orderly, legal and put. Within hours of taking office, President Donald Trump took enforcement action on many of the priorities I have fought so hard in Congress for many years. Local, state and federal officials have embraced a new commitment to working with each other to make America safe again. As open border policies reverse the damages they have inflicted on our nation, we cannot lose sight of the underlying issues that have plagued our immigration system for decades.
