Jennifer Hudson is ready for the holiday season!
She was on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” today to get some early holiday cheer for her fans, and “Extra’s” Terry Seymour was also there.
Jen spoke to Terry about the release of her first holiday album, “The Gift of Love,” which is a mix of traditional holiday songs and original tracks.
Hudson said, “What better way than to come back with a Christmas album?”
Speaking about releasing an album now, she said: And I really wanted to dedicate my time and really put my heart into making an album…and each song meant so much to me. So I thought, “How do I choose each song carefully?”
Jennifer continued, “What I love about this album is that there’s something for everyone, which is why I called it ‘The Gift of Love.'”
Hudson is friends with Christmas Queen Mariah Carey, but did she give Jen any advice?
“You know what she said to me? ‘Jennifer, why didn’t you call me to write a song?’ I thought, ‘Oh my god, I wasn’t thinking of that.’ ”
She continued, “She’s the queen and I’m the princess. We’re both holiday fanatics. I hope we can do something from the album this season…we’ll see.”

Terry also asked about the intimate tour Jennifer has planned. Is there a possibility that a special guest will come?
Hudson said, “That’s great. That makes me happy. Maybe this holiday season we’ll come together and do something with our music.”
She’s been working with her boyfriend Common, and Terry had to ask about their recent marriage talk on the show.
Terry asked, “Can I watch the wedding?”
Jennifer said, “Come on, take it easy. A lot has happened. I like the idea and I think he’s a beautiful person, but I’m going to take some time to think about it.” We’re not in a hurry with anyone. We’re very happy as well.”
And fans are very happy that Jennifer gave them an early gift this holiday season: an upcoming tour and a new album.
