Israel changed on October 7, 2023, when Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists attacked and killed thousands of innocent people. The scars of terrorism remain everywhere I look in Israel, but through the devastation I have seen the unwavering resolve of the Israeli people and the Israeli government. When I met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, I made it clear that I would always support Israel. Now, President Biden has indicated that his administration and Democrats in Washington intend to do the same, stop cowering to the party’s radical left in a hateful and dangerous attempt to win votes from Hamas sympathizers, and It is necessary to force people to take up security work. Immediately release the hostages and end the coddling of Hamas leadership.
During my time in Israel, two important things became clear to me. First, I witnessed the absolute evil of Israel’s enemies and their brutality. I have seen Jews killed simply for being Jewish, women raped and murdered, and babies slaughtered. I experienced this attack firsthand and thankfully spoke to those who survived and told me what happened to them, their families and friends.
At the Nova Music Festival, I saw parents building a memorial for their children who had been taken hostage or killed. I stood in a destroyed home and listened to an audio recording of a young Israeli woman’s last words speaking to her father before he was shot by Hamas. I met with the families of the American hostages, and the devastation and sadness they experienced was immeasurable. And I saw firsthand what Israel faces from Iran and his proxies, and what they would do to us if they could.
Top Democratic Party speaks out against Israel after phone call between President Biden and Prime Minister Netanyahu
Second, in my meetings with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israeli leaders, I witnessed the incredible and unprecedented efforts Israel is making to protect civilian lives and obtain aid to Gaza.
We are all saddened by the accidental Israeli attack on a humanitarian convoy that left seven aid workers dead, including an American citizen. Israel did the right thing and, as always, immediately took responsibility, apologized, and launched an investigation. Civilian deaths are tragic and should be avoided at all costs, and American deaths should demand accountability and an apology from Israel, which it promised and delivered. Israel does more to prevent civilian deaths than any belligerent in history has been expected to do, and takes responsibility when tragic events occur.
Biden warns Prime Minister Netanyahu that he will change Gaza policy unless Israel protects civilians
There will be accountability for this tragedy, and we hope it never happens again, but what President Biden and the Democratic Party cannot do is distract from the fact that Hamas is still holding Americans hostage. It is allowing people to ignore the issue or to ignore it. It is an undeniable fact that the United States and Israel have a common security interest in destroying Hamas and bringing the hostages home today. Hamas must be destroyed, and that means entering Rafah and other places where Hamas hides behind innocent civilians.
I truly believe that if Prime Minister Netanyahu had occupied Rafah when he wanted to destroy Hamas, the war would have almost been over. But at every step, the US has been forcing Israel to slow down, only for Biden to use that time to step up attacks and betrayals against Israel, forcing the hostages to languish in captivity for even longer. .

Five American hostages held by Hamas have been held captive for more than six months. It is unacceptable to allow President Biden, his administration, and Democrats in Washington to continue to attack Israel, demand the overthrow of its democratically elected government, and abandon our allies at the United Nations and on the world stage. And about the fact that the American people are being held hostage by a brutal and murderous terrorist organization while the Democratic Party launches these attacks against our allies. It’s frustrating that we say little or nothing about what we know is abuse.
But it is not enough to speak every day, as I have done since this attack happened, about the hostages still being held by Hamas. The reported letter to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani is a start, but Biden plans to do more to ensure Qatar fulfills its obligation to ensure the immediate and safe release of all hostages. must be done.

It took Qatar several months to secure the release of the hostages from Hamas. About this not yet achieved. Why does Qatar allow Hamas leaders to live in protection and luxury in Doha while American citizens continue to be tortured as captives of terrorists? It must end now and today we see concrete evidence that Qatar, as an ally of the United States, is carrying out a mission to rescue the hostages and all those held by Hamas. There is a need. Qatar enjoys many benefits from being an ally of the United States, including hosting American military bases. If the Qataris do not do their part to rescue the hostages, all will be weighed in terms of the consequences of their inaction.
My recent trip to Israel is my sixth since being elected Governor of Florida in 2010, and my third as a Florida State Senator. Florida and Israel have always had a strong relationship, and each visit reminds us of Florida’s ties to Israel and the importance of supporting the Jewish state. I will never walk away from Israel, and I am more committed than ever to ensuring that the Biden administration stands by our great ally in the fight for Israel’s survival against the unimaginably barbaric act of Iranian-backed terrorism.
