Ben Affleck spoke about his wife Jennifer Lopez’s immense fame in a new interview on Kevin Hart’s “Hart to Hart.”
He explained of Jen: “Everybody loves her, and she really represents something that’s important to people.”
Ben says that when people see him, their reaction is, “Hey, I love your movies,” but when they see his wife, “They’re like, ‘Oh! Jennifer Lopez!’ It’s amazing, you know?”
Affleck recalled taking the couple and their children to a play in Times Square and being bombarded by the audience.

Lopez shares daughters Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-husband Jennifer Garner, while she has twins Max and 16-year-old Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The Oscar-winner explained, “We got out of the car and we were going to go see a play, and I was like, ‘Fuck it, I’m going to be late, I’ve got to walk a block and a half.’ [Lopez] “She was like, ‘Okay,’ and she didn’t say anything.”
Ben continued, “I walked through Times Square with my girlfriend and all the kids and it was crazy. I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ and there was this woman in a purple skin-tight suit smoking weed. She was a fat lady and she started filming herself running backwards and she was like, ‘Jennifer Lopez!!’ She was like an emissary. And then everyone else was just moving, they were tourists.”
Describing the chaos, he added, “Then I moved out. We had five kids and me and Jen and it just felt like hundreds of people screaming.”
Noting that he often looks gloomy in photos, Ben joked, “That’s why I have a sour look on my face.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Ben said he’s “a little shy.”
“I don’t like attention,” he says, “so people look at me and they’re like, ‘Why is this guy so angry all the time?’ Because someone’s shoving a camera in my face and I’m like, ‘Right, here I go.'”
He insisted, “You can take your picture with my wife at the club or at a premiere. I don’t mind. Go ahead. Do what you want. I don’t notice you,” but then clarified, “Kids, that’s a different story.”
The “Hart to Hart” episode aired amid headlines that Affleck and Lopez’s marriage is in crisis: They’re currently selling their Beverly Hills mansion and Jen is vacationing in Italy away from Ben.
“Hart to Hart” is currently streaming on Peacock.
