Rock Lobster? Similar to Crab Walker. But don’t be fooled. This baby is not a Chrysler, nor is it the size of a whale. And sadly, you can’t carry 20 of your best friends to your next beach bonfire. Still, wait till we hear what you can do.
It’s not as big as a lovers’ hut, but Hyundai’s new concept vehicle certainly knows how to get around town. And what’s the best? We promise to eradicate the dreaded parallel parking.

From Rock Lobster to Crab Walker
That’s right. Hyundai’s new EV takes a literal sideways approach to city driving. This electric daredevil maneuver will make even a crab blush. Imagine slipping effortlessly into a tight parking lot on a busy downtown street. No more nudging back and forth while praying you don’t get hit by a car in front or behind you. This car just drives sideways.

Hyundai recently shared a video of the actual lateral feel demonstrating the car’s ‘Club Mode’. The ability to move the vehicle laterally by controlling each wheel independently. This is more than just a flashy gimmick. It’s a practical solution to a common urban driving headache.
Club Mode: The Future of Urban Mobility?
Well, if you thought, “Didn’t you see this on the Hummer EV?” Well you are not wrong. General Motors has also introduced a similar feature to their electric Hummers. However, Hyundai is introducing this crab-walking feature to its more compact and eco-friendly models. Talk about putting a new twist on things.

Hyundai’s crab-walking car is eco-friendly and fun
The crab walking feature is not the only attraction of this vehicle. It’s all-electric, so it’s not only great for your parallel parking skills, it’s also great for the environment. Hyundai hasn’t shared any details yet, but knowing that, you can expect competitive range and charging capabilities.
This crab-walking car is still only a prototype, but it’s an exciting glimpse into what Hyundai has in store for us. We do more than just build efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. They also try to sprinkle in unexpected fun and functionality.
