Solution: One-handed keyboard trick
Apple has a clever solution up its sleeve in the iPhone’s Messages app. Enabling the one-handed keyboard allows you to easily type messages using just one hand. Let’s unlock this feature step by step.
- open message app On iPhone
- Tap. new conversation button
- Then tap and hold emoji icon (smile) at the bottom left of the screen

- A menu will pop up with three keyboard icons. Choose your side:
Left hand input: Tap the keyboard icon on the left. The keyboard is compressed towards the left side of the screen, creating a small layout that’s perfect for left-handed users.
Right hand input: Select the keyboard icon on the right. The keyboard is moved to the right side of the screen to accommodate right-handed needs.
Revert to standard keyboard layout. Just press the arrow icon on an empty space. The keyboard returns to its original position. Alternatively, press the keyboard icon in the middle to return the keyboard to its original orientation.

Customize the default keyboard
Want to set a default keyboard for all apps? Follow these additional steps.
- open settings app On iPhone
- Scroll down and tap general
- select keyboard
- Tap one handed keyboard
- Please choose one left handed or right handed Based on your preferences. The keyboard will now maintain this layout across all apps.
- click left arrow Click on the top left to save your changes.
