What happens if I mute notifications?
This means that notifications from people and apps not on your allowlist will be blocked or silenced. You won’t see or hear notifications, so you can stay focused on your work or other activities. However, if someone tries to contact you in an emergency or calls you repeatedly, you can still get in touch.
Plus, when you turn focus mode off, you’ll see a summary of notifications you missed while in focus mode, so you never miss anything important.

What is Smart Activation?
You can also create focus mode schedules and use smart activation to schedule different modes. This allows your phone to turn on custom modes based on your location and the apps you use.
For example, if you select “Based on time”, you can set a specific time for Focus Mode to automatically activate every day. Or, if you choose Location, you can choose where you want focus mode to be enabled, such as your workplace or your favorite restaurant.
When you set Smart Activation for Focus Mode, your iPhone automatically activates the mode based on the settings you choose. This helps you stay focused at a specific time or place without having to manually activate the mode every time.
