How to find and label photos of people and pets in Photos on Mac
If you’re using Photos for the first time on your Mac, when you first launch Photos, the software reviews your collection and identifies the humans, dogs, and cats that are present in your images. Once the review is complete, you will have access to the People album. Here, images can be sorted and labeled by the faces they contain. When you name your dog or cat, the album title changes to “People & Pets.” When you add a new image, Photos automatically matches identified humans and pets to those you’ve tagged previously.
In addition to this automatic organization feature, you can also manually add captions to each photo. This will be useful later when you create albums that incorporate specific words in their captions. For example, if you want to create a smart album for your dining room, you can add caption text to all the photos for “Dining Room” and later you can just type the word “Dining Room” to get all the photos. .
