But soon she started dabbling in many different ventures. Now 37, she’s become a full-fledged multi-hyphenator with a fresh approach to overcoming challenges on and off the slopes. “It took me a while to figure out where I stood in my life that didn’t ski and where I could do new things that challenged me,” she says.

Over the past decade, she’s struggled with sleep problems, Vonn says, made worse by her retirement from skiing. Until a few months ago, she hadn’t found anything that helped her consistently, so she needed naps all the time and she felt like she was always lagging behind. My life mostly revolves around my three dogs. My three dogs have different personalities and different needs, but they are my family. They are a motley crew: small, medium and large.
