A man has gone viral for his video showing how to make flip-flops, which has some viewers questioning the prices of popular sandals like Yeezys.
TikTok user MonmentsGang (@momentsgang) frequently reposts viral content. On March 2, the account posted a video showing the inside of a factory that makes flip-flops. In the video, a man packs plastic pellets into a mold and presses a button to activate a machine. The machine pushes down on the plastic, and when he lets go, a row of plastic flip-flops pop out of the mold.
The caption reads, “This is how flip flops are made.” The video has been viewed 5.1 million times since it was posted. Food Explorer Lalit On Instagram. The Instagrammer’s profile states, “Originating from India, exploring street food, food industry and all kinds of product manufacturing across the world.”

A cardboard box full of rubber-like plastic pellets begins the basic process of making flip-flops. The pellets are sucked up by an injection molding machine, heated, and injected into hinged metal molds. Each mold is designed, like a waffle iron, to make one pair of shoes per fill. Workers trim off the excess material as the molds cool.”

In the comments section, viewers pointed out that the manufacturing costs didn’t seem to match the price at the register. retail $55 adults, $45 children, $35 infants.
“People are spending $500 on Yeezy slides,” one user said.
“That will be $60,” said the second user.
Other users questioned the worker’s skill: “Am I the only one surprised they didn’t spread it evenly?” they wrote.
Some pointed out that there was graffiti on the factory’s machinery. “So we just act like that sign is not there,” they wrote. Another user wrote, In Hinduism, Swastika The symbol represents prosperity and good fortune.
