Holiday cyber scams are becoming more and more common.
According to the FBI, thousands of people fall victim to holiday scams each year. His two most common scams are non-delivery and non-payment crimes.
In non-delivery fraud, buyers pay for goods and services found online but never receive them. Alternatively, non-payment fraud involves shipping goods or services but the seller is never paid.
According to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) 2021 report, non-payment or non-delivery fraud cost more than $337 million.

Additionally, the agency said credit card fraud resulted in an additional $173 million in losses.
Another scam to watch out for is auction scams, where items are misrepresented on auction sites, and gift card scams.
Here are five cyber scams to watch out for this year, according to Norton.

Acting as sellers, cybercriminals often offer gift cards as a payment method. They may request an electronic version of the card. Once you have this information, use it to buy whatever you want with your gift card. Stick to credit card purchases.
