Gwyneth Paltrow’s ski crash trial has become a new stage show.
The 51-year-old actress was accused of having a collision with Terry Sanderson at a ski resort in 2016, and won a high-profile lawsuit earlier this year, but now Linus Karp of Awkward Productions admitted that. She was fascinated by the “absurdity” of the trial.
Linus told Sky News: “The Oscar-winning actress and founding queen of Goop is sent to court in Utah, where a man who is far from a Hollywood celebrity accuses her of… all the stupidity in court that’s taken seriously. To.
“The absurdity of it was very appealing.”
Joseph Martin, who plays Sanderson, believes the trial represented “solid gold for theatre.”
“In a world of 24-hour news, social media and television cameras in courtrooms, every moment is an instant meme,” he said.
“It clicks quickly online, so you get a lot of theatrical material to get excited about.”
A jury found Sanderson “100 percent” at fault for the accident, and Gwyneth was ordered to pay $1 in damages.
After the verdict, the actress admitted she was “satisfied” with the outcome.
Gwyneth said in a statement: “I felt that to tolerate these false allegations would compromise my integrity.
“I am pleased with this outcome and appreciate the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury and appreciate their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
Gwyneth recently explained that she was determined to “do the right thing” during the trial.
The Hollywood star told PEOPLE, “It was really important for me to realize that I was in that situation and to go out there and try to do the right thing.”
