Happy Tuesday everyone. They are a very calm and charming group. So until his heart stopped working, he thought his doctors were idiots. Comedian and actor Bob Odenkirk has been in show business for over 30 years. He started out as a writer on SNL. He was really funny on the underrated “Ben Stiller Show.” He co-created the great sketch comedy “Mr. Show,” and most people now know him as the shady lawyer Saul Goodman from “Better Call Saul.” Isn’t it a good thing that there are no such sleazy lawyers in real life? He also does many charity works for the underprivileged.
I knew the audience wouldn’t know who David Cross was, but I was fine with that, so I left it at that. A few years ago, Odenkirk suffered a heart attack while filming the final season of the series and almost died. Indeed, “Better Call Saul” has become “Better Call 911.” This is a fate you don’t wish on any actor unless you’re trying to get back to “According to Jim.” Odenkirk was saved, thank goodness. And he recently appeared on a podcast to reflect on his heart attack and say the near-death experience could have been prevented if he had just listened to his doctors. So why didn’t he listen?
Bob Odenkirk: My doctor was a conservative. He became more and more grumpy as the years went by. I hated this side of him that I only learned about over time. He said, “You need to start taking statins now.” And I said, “Well, I don’t know.” No one in my family has heart disease. He goes, just take them. And I had a heart attack. And I think the first doctor’s decision was correct. The grumpy conservative jacka*** was right, because he was a great**** good doctor. His political views have nothing to do with his ability to judge your health or health choices or needs.
Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack and needed three defibrillator shocks to get his pulse back.
Well, that’s often said. That’s why I never asked liberal doctors when they gave me a mammogram. So Bob seems like an honest person. He pays homage to him. He didn’t have to say this publicly, but he wanted everyone to know the hard lesson he learned. I’m sure all his showbiz friends abandoned him like he was Jerry Nadler in a nudist colony. know. Let’s think about it. But America needs more of it these days. Well, that and handsome and brilliant people like me point it out. We need to start seeing each other as humans again. Not just the stooges of his two rival political parties. Our lives are more important than stupid agendas. And someone should tell that to the shaggy heifers on “The View.” We are humans, not a point of discussion. Except for Kat, she’s like a warning label. But what if Odenkirk had a doctor with a much different worldview? Well, we don’t know. Maybe this.
What are the advantages? She can examine your prostate without using her hands. I know that, but imagine if he had a far-left doctor who told him not to do anything to prevent heart disease. Because he’s an old white guy who doesn’t have heart disease. It is common sense to identify as an older white woman. Because, for example, if you have a woke doctor who only cares about equity, that is, you can compare the cancer incidence rate within your group identity to the cancer incidence rate of another “marginalized group.” Because when you have doctors who let people die untreated in order to match that, politics actually becomes important. That’s logic. I’m sorry, Bill, but you will die, but enjoy your last few months knowing that you have contributed to an equal society. This is the BLM envelope. When you solidify your will. You can imagine how bad things would be if all the jobs you rely on to make your life better were full of woke knuckleheads.

A woke mechanic will tell you he turned your car on solar power instead of changing the oil. It only works when it’s sunny. That would be 80 grand. Or how about a police officer who wakes up? Could I see some ID? There were reports of people over the age of 18 at this drag show. Or what about the woke teacher? hang on. they are everywhere. And how is it going? Our students are shit. It’s as if education replaces knowledge with dissatisfaction and the team locker room with “Show me yours and I’ll show you mine.” Now let’s look at it from the opposite perspective. How many woke people have rejected good advice because the experts were playing the wrong politics?
Sure, if I supported polluting Mother Earth with fossil fuels, I might have changed the oil four months ago when the check engine light came on. Also, could you give me a ride home? As you know, sir, I am against the use of all petroleum products, including plastics. So I have to put on renewable wool gloves and do my prostate exam. Now that my house is on fire, I’m going to waste all that water, but I’m so glad I nailed that hydrant. Sure, I could describe the guy who beat me up and robbed me, but you’d probably run to the police right away. Let’s just say he’s a really dark-skinned white guy. If all this sounds crazy, consider that there are doctors in the United States who are currently cutting off the genitals of boys who play with Barbie dolls. The reason is that the boys were playing with a Barbie doll and someone told them it was actually a girl. Thank God we didn’t have a doctor like this when I was a kid. I went trick-or-treating three years in a row as a kid dressed like Dorothy Hamill. I won 27 Snickers bars and 3 gold medals. Physicians, like everyone else, can be blinkered and unethical. Plus, they can’t dance.

For years, we’ve heard the phrase, “It’s between me and the doctor.” I have said this many times when people ask me what I do in obstetrics and gynecology. But even medicine is getting weird. The American Medical Association favors a narrative based on white supremacy, a sinister narrative that upholds meritocracy and individualism: treating people as members of oppressing groups rather than as people with heartache. To combat the bad narrative, we’re promoting something awful called health equity. But maybe you deserve to get sick. That mole is malignant, and so are you.

So why would you allow your medical decisions to be influenced by outside considerations? You would never say, “That’s between me, my doctor, and the Board of Transportation.” Or do you? If you’d rather have a heart attack than listen to what Republicans have to say, then maybe the problem isn’t with the Republicans. Sure, you went completely blind, but at least you didn’t let your eye doctor, Dr. Rand Paul, tell you what to do. The moral of the story is to listen to people who are telling hard truths, even if you don’t like them. If you are concerned about being awake all the time, talk to your anesthesiologist.
