Gordon Ramsay is urging everyone to wear bike helmets after being involved in a “really nasty accident” in Connecticut.
“I’m totally blown away, I’m so lucky to be here,” the celebrity chef told X, as he showed off his deep purple torso in the shocking video.

“The amazing trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses who treated me in the hospital this week have been fantastic but I have to be honest with you, I have to put my helmet on,” he said.
Ramsay continued: “I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain, it’s been a tough week and I’m getting through it. But I can’t overstate how important it is to wear a helmet.”
The 57-year-old added in the caption: “I’m OK, no broken bones or any major injuries but I am a little bruised and look like a purple potato.”
Gordon continued, “I’m grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London who treated and examined me, but I’m most grateful for the helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father’s Day and take care.”
He also attached a before photo of him posing with his bike while wearing the helmet, as well as a photo after the helmet had been damaged.
Just a few weeks ago, Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi caught up with Gordon and Lisa Vanderpump at FOX’s Upfronts presentation in New York to talk about filming Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars.
