First appearance on Fox: A Republican senator is taking aim at “weird” Democrats across the aisle who lack “common sense” when it comes to the issue of biological males participating in women’s sports.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville touted the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act that he and Florida Rep. Greg Steube recently introduced. This prevents men and women from being forced to play separate sports. Other things he lamented were also talked about.
“Can you believe we’re even talking about this? I mean, this is the insanity that the Democratic Party is forcing on the American people,” Tuberville said. “They hate gender. They hate the nuclear family. They’re trying to destroy it. They’re trying to make it very hard for women, and I don’t understand it.”

As a former college football coach, Tuberville said that Title IX, the federal civil rights law enacted in 1972 that prohibits sexual discrimination, was “probably the best thing to come out of Washington, D.C., because it “Because it leveled the playing field,” he said. Sports. ”
But he warned that “Democrats cannot afford to be complacent” about protecting women’s opportunities to participate safely, and that people “will be hurt” by mixing genders in certain sports, such as boxing.
Last year, Tuberville reintroduced an earlier version of her bill, the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act, which passed the House without Democratic support and died in the Senate. When Tuberville tried to pass the bill unanimously, Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) blocked it.

Once again, the bill may end up educating people about the issue of protecting women’s sports rather than actually gaining support from Democrats, Tuberville said.
“Folks, this is what’s happening right now: what these weirdos are doing to our country, what they’re doing to women, what they’re doing to gender. Please open your eyes to see if it’s there,” Tuberville said. “We’re going to lose little girls who play sports growing up.”
He said his efforts to win some Democratic support will continue, but with the pending departure of retiring Sen. Joe Manchin (D-Va.), Sen. Jon Tester (D-Va.) ), the job will become even more difficult. -Mont, another moderate Democrat who is up for re-election this year, has decided to support the party.

“We just want common sense from the Democrats. They line up like a flock of ducks. They don’t think about the American people. They don’t think about the voters. They vote in droves. ,” Tuberville said.
“One thing about our Republican group is that we have people who actually use their heads and their common sense to vote for the people of their state. Sometimes I don’t agree with that, but hey, that’s the way it is. “I’m voting for the people of Alabama. I’m going to stand up for them because they need a voice,” he added.
