Goodwill is a nonprofit organization that sells donated clothing and items. Some of these clothes range from Forever 21 to Lululemon. A man has leaked a list of branded clothing and his Goodwill will start an auction on its online store.
The video featured TikTok user @mcharpymeal. Behind him was a list of designer clothing that was no longer in stores, which he said he found on Reddit from a Goodwill employee. Instead, Goodwill plans to auction off the items on its website. The list is divided into three tiers: $60 and above, high quality, and top quality.
“So the first step is, ‘Only submit if the tag is new and over $60,'” the content creator said. “And there are a lot of generic brands that aren’t particularly high quality.” The list included Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle and Old Navy. “That means you can no longer buy a new Old Navy jacket or vest that costs more than $60,” he added.
Next is the middle row containing “slightly more expensive items”. The list included Banana Republic, Torrid, Calvin Klein, Versace, and more. Last but not least were top quality items from designer brands such as Adidas, Nike, Kate Spade and Levi’s.
“So if you’re someone who wants to donate a name brand or designer item to a thrift store and want to donate it to those in need, it will be donated to Goodwill.com,” @mcharpymeal said. Instead, content creators recommended donating to local thrift stores, consignment stores, and shelters.
“This is another reason I don’t want anything to do with Goodwill,” he concluded.

The Daily Dot reached out to @mcharpymeal via Instagram direct message and TikTok comments, and Goodwill via press email. The video has been viewed more than 825,000 times since January 23, shocking viewers.
“Looks like good intentions don’t have much good intentions,” one viewer wrote.
“As a low-income single parent who literally can only afford these brands for my kids out of thrift, that’s so upsetting,” said a second person.
“It’s amazing how they’re putting donated old clothes up for auction,” a third person commented.
@mcharpymeal replied in the comments: The difference is that they’re adding fast fashion brands to the mix, not just designers. ”
Additionally, some have confirmed that Goodwill has been doing this for a while.
“As someone who worked in good faith over 6 years ago…we have always done that!!” one user said.
“I worked there two years ago and they were already doing this at that time. They had a room in the back and there they put all the expensive items on their website and sold them. ,” chimed in a second voice.
In fact, the retailer has been selling items at auction ever since it launched its website in 1999. Now, 25 years and 128 stores later, Goodwill’s website generated 1 billion dollars. However, in 2020, the company Began Initially priced at $20 each, it was a “big sale with tons of authentic name brand items.” Goodwill activities began over a three-year period. nurture The reason for that price is “operating costs, including rent, utilities, and wages.”
