A new trailer for Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire has been released on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s YouTube channel. In the next installment, the Spengler family returns to the New York City firehouse where it all began. They have developed a top secret laboratory to defeat ghosts. But when the discovery of an ancient relic unleashes an evil force, a new and old team of Ghostbusters join forces to protect their homeworld and stop a new being, Death Chill, from saving the world from the second Ice Age. Death Chill is accompanied by an army of ghosts. The trailer showed spikes of ice appearing on the frozen New York City ground. The new villain may be more dangerous than Gozer. You will see Slimer at the end. A smaller version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man suggests that a familiar ghost may also return as part of Death Chill’s army.
The trailer also hinted that the Ghostbusters organization might be forced to shut down. However, they end up fighting Death Chill to prove their importance in protecting New York.

The film is a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) and stars returning characters and a new villain. The new film was directed by Gil Keenan. Written by Gil Reitman and Jason Reitman.
