It’s very hard to make a living when you’re making a third of what you were making, that’s all. I think we’re getting really close now.”
The couple said they were happy to be able to shine a light on “those who put their lives on the line to preserve democracy” at Albie’s.
George stressed about the honorees, saying, “This is brave…we don’t get that close, so it’s really fun to be able to show it to these people.”
“The whole process of pulling them up and telling them they were chosen, they were really emotional,” Amal said.
