Hormel Foods Corporation of Austin, Minn., has had a busy fall this fall, introducing two products to expand its Hormel Black Label Bacon line.
Hormel partnered with General Mills Co. and cereal maker Cinnamon Toast Crunch to develop its first co-branded bacon. Officials said the limited-edition product “offers a crispy, sugary crust with a delicious balance of cinnamon, sugar, salt and bacon flavors.” Specifically, we hand rub the “Cinnadust” seasoning blend onto thick-cut bacon and let it sit overnight for optimal flavor.
The new oven-safe thick-cut bacon “eliminates all the problems with traditional bacon cooking,” says Hormel. Consumers simply place the oven-safe tray in a preheated oven, cook for 20 minutes (depending on how crunchy they like it), and then throw the tray in the trash. No need to touch raw meat, tend to pans, or clean up afterwards.

Zatarain’s, New Orleans, Louisiana, announced the relaunch of its reformulated andouille smoked sausage flavored with paprika, black pepper, red chili pepper, oregano and thyme. Zatarain’s new Andouille Smoked Sausage is available at Kroger and Walmart stores nationwide, as well as many other local retailers.
