Fortnite is not available on iOS worldwide, Epic Games on Friday after Apple blocked a bid to revive popular games on the US App Store.
“Apple blocked Fortnite submissions and cannot be released to US app stores or to the European Union’s epic game store,” official account or Fortnite I wrote it in the post On social media platform X, “Sadly, iOS Fortnite will be offline all over the world until Apple unblocks it.”
CNBC reached out to Apple for comment.
Epic Games submitted Fortnite to Apple’s US App Store last week. This comes a month after the judge determined that the iPhone maker is not allowed to charge fees for purchases made outside of the iOS app.
Fortnite was pulled from the App Store in 2020 after Epic Games evaded Apple’s committee by updating its software and linking to its own website. Apple charges developers 30% for purchases they make through the app.
Fortnite is available on European iPhones Since last year Through Epic Games’s own digital store. Third-party app stores are permitted in the European Union under the Digital Markets Act.
However, on Friday, Epic Games said it was also blocked to distribute Fortnite on the Epic Games store on iOS in the EU.
