Brandon Doyle speaks to Saul Klein about being at the forefront of technology and internet adoption in the residential real estate industry in the latest edition of the Snapshot series.

From being a member of the original Realtor.com team to founding RealTalk, one of the first online real estate communities, Saul Klein has been at the forefront of technology and Internet adoption in residential real estate. His leadership and innovation have earned him industry respect and a reputation as a technology pioneer and evangelist in real estate.
“I’ve been in the real estate industry for 48 years,” Klein said. “My career has been and continues to be my career. From owning and managing two real estate companies to working as a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Public Tax Accountant, and Expert Witness, I have been able to see and understand the industry from many different angles. I had a chance.”
Recognized for his contributions to the industry, Mr. Klein’s influence has been far-reaching. Among them are Realtor Magazine’s “25 Most Influential People in Real Estate” in 2003, and Inman’s “100 Most Influential People in Real Estate” for 10 consecutive years. Includes being selected.
One of Mr. Klein’s key accomplishments was his role in moving real estate listing information from MLS books to the Internet, a revolutionary change that propelled the industry into the digital age. “Despite the resistance, I was passionate about my vision for the future. We won,” he said.
Klein hinted at an upcoming announcement regarding his role as an industry consultant for early-stage startups. “We are excited about the potential to monetize data through the capital markets, with revenue flowing back to MLSs, brokers and agents,” he said. “I also see great potential in blockchain, AI, and evolving business models, especially at the intersection of lending and real estate.”
When asked about his vision for spot and futures markets in real estate, Klein said, “There’s no actual spot market in real estate, so there’s no futures market. If we could create a spot market through the MLS, for example, that would change the economic model of the MLS. This could be of benefit to consumers and real estate agents.”
Mr. Klein’s commitment to education in the industry is evident in his contributions. He has created numerous technology certification programs for the National Association of Realtors, including the first Social Media Coaching course. “Education and training are essential to success, more so today than in years past,” Klein said.
His expertise extends to social media, where he boasts extensive and extensive knowledge of various platforms. Mr. Klein has over 30,000 connections and followers of his on LinkedIn, and on Facebook he participates in at least 12 real estate communities, reaching out to over 500,000 real estate professionals every day.
When asked about his predictions for the future of technology in real estate, Klein said: “Over the next 10 years, we will see more and more transaction processes online. The use of virtual reality, augmented reality, AI, and blockchain technology will expand, and more people will have access to data, increasing transparency. will increase.”
In fact, Klein’s legacy is intertwined with the evolution of the real estate industry in the digital age. His passion, dedication, and pioneering spirit continue to shape the industry as he explores new frontiers in technology and the changing landscape of real estate.
