Facility to enhance capabilities and customer service in the Northeast
Marshfield, Wisconsin – December 20, 2024 – nelson jamesona leading distribution company in the food processing industry, announced the purchase of a 45,000 square foot warehouse in northwestern Pennsylvania. This is an important step in strengthening our capabilities and enabling us to more efficiently serve our customers and partners in the Northeast United States. The Fairview location will be one of five Nelson Jameson distribution centers across the country, offering a wide range of products and services to help companies maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance. This will strengthen the company’s core mission.
The new facility in Fairview, Pennsylvania, located just 19 miles from Erie, Pennsylvania, is expected to be fully operational by summer 2025, when Nelson Jameson reestablishes local service in the region. The facility will employ up to 20 full-time employees.

The Fairview Distribution Center was built in 2004 and sits on an 8.4-acre site with an adjacent 20-acre parcel set aside for future expansion. The building’s 45,000-square-foot footprint is complemented by an additional 16,000 square-foot second-story mezzanine and has undergone extensive renovations to improve functionality, capacity, and employee experience. The facility has 12 truck bays for transportation and distribution.
Major upgrades to the new distribution center include a refreshed exterior with newly paved employee parking and visitor parking. The climate-controlled warehouse offers 1.1 million cubic feet of storage capacity and accommodates more than 3,800 pallet positions. In the future, approximately 8,000 square feet of space will be allocated to a new service and repair center. This expansion further enhances Nelson Jameson’s services for its customers, leveraging Nelson Jameson’s authorized service provider status for both Neogen and Alfa Laval. The renovation also includes significant employee-focused improvements, including a new visitor reception area, employee break room, locker room, and new restrooms to improve the working environment. Additionally, the new warehouse transition corridor will be designed to meet the following requirements: SQF certification standards.
