According to flight attendants, you don’t actually need a room key to access the power in your hotel room.
A flight attendant has shared a “game-changing” tip to help hotel guests avoid leaving valuables in their rooms when they check out. Esther Starlas shared the travel trick in a TikTok video that is now going viral on the social media platform.

The text on Esther’s video reads, “6 Hotel Life Hacks from Flight Attendants.” While sharing the video, she wrote, “Are you worried about leaving something in your locker? Put your heels or shoes in there and you’ll never forget them!”
Esther said this travel tip can also be applied to other important items of clothing, such as coats: Flight attendants have advised hotel guests to keep one shoe in their locker and the other in their coat pocket.
Another of her travel tips is how to close curtains: She says that if hotel guests can’t close them properly, they can use a hanger with clips to hold the ends of the curtains in place.
Additionally, they also recommend using the TV’s USB cord to charge your devices if the World Travel Plug doesn’t work.
Esther also said that the shower caps can also be used as shoe covers. Apart from this, hotel guests can also use them as remote control covers to prevent the spread of germs.
According to the flight attendant, you don’t need a room key to turn on the electricity in the hotel rooms – any card will do.
