Flight attendant Mitra Amirzadeh shared a unique way to ask passengers to change seats so that families with young children can sit together.

An unscrupulous flight attendant has revealed her unique method of forcing passengers to swap seats if a family with young children requests to sit together.
Mitra Amirzadeh, a Florida-based flight attendant, claims she receives seat change requests on eight out of the 10 flights she works on each month.
She claims she’s good at “reading the mood” when looking for volunteers to take action, but she has a trick up her sleeve if she’s initially turned down.
“I’ve said it before: ‘Okay, can you watch the toddler?'” she said. Wall Street Journal.. “That’s when they’re going to want snacks and coloring books, because they’re going to need it.”
Seat change requests are often received from couples who have booked seats far apart in hopes of finding someone to swap with before takeoff.
Amirzadeh, a union representative for a major airline, only intervenes in requests on planes when children are involved.
Flight attendants rarely get involved in changes because they believe that the person who bought the seat they want has the right to sit on the flight.
“The next time you get angry or frustrated that you can’t get the seat you want, you need to remind yourself that you didn’t pay to get the seat. You’re going to be in a situation like that,” she told the outlet.
A former flight attendant turned TikTok star has revealed the success rate of passengers who try to change seats to be closer to their significant other.
Influencer Jeannie Winnie says if a solo traveler requests a swap between the same seats while sitting in the same area of the plane, there’s a 99.9% chance of getting a change.
“I’ve never been told no by anyone,” Jeannie said in the video. It has been viewed over 2.4 million times.
However, if you try to upgrade from the back of the plane to the front, the success rate drops to 80%.
Additionally, the original seat is next to the baby or toilet, and there is only a 40% chance that you will be able to change the seat.
If you ask someone in a window or aisle seat to exchange a middle seat, they won’t be able to exchange it unless there’s a 10-15% chance of exchange.
“But if you give up a window or aisle seat, your seating rate goes back up to 99%.”
“And anyone who wants to bet on a seat in a different class, don’t even ask,” said the influencer, who boasts 10.4 million followers.
“Passengers are paying a lot of money to upgrade, so unless they have a plan to pay it back, the success rate is -682%.”
