California Governor Gavin Newsom was caught on video running over a Chinese child playing a game of pickup basketball during a trip to the country.
The short clip, shared by RNC Research, a division of the Republican National Committee, shows the California governor showing off his ball-handling skills before moving toward the basket and running past one of the children trying to protect him. The situation is shown.
Newsom and the boy were seen falling to the ground, and the governor wrapped Newsom in a bear hug and playfully patted him on the back as he stood up.

A spokesperson for Newsom’s office told Fox News Digital that the incident occurred at a public school in Beijing, where the governor was visiting to “observe farm-to-school agriculture programs and other agricultural science programs in China.” He said it happened when he was attending a business school.
The accident occurred during Newsom’s week-long visit to China, where the California governor met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday. Newsom told reporters earlier this week that the purpose of the trip was to “turn the page, renew friendships and re-engage with the fundamental and foundational issues that will define our collective faith in the future.” Told.

In a press conference after the meeting, Newsom said he and Xi discussed ways to “accelerate progress on climate change in a meaningful and substantive way,” according to a CBS News report.
