Check out a preview of Discovery’s The Last Woodsmen. It follows lumberjacks in a remote wilderness as they cut down giant trees, each worth up to $70,000, using only axes and hand-held power saws.
The new series is in the same vein as the network’s popular shows “Deadliest Catch” and “Gold Rush,” in which crew members risk their lives to fight against the elements.
“The Last Woodsmen” is an interesting look at how precious wood is brought to market, sold to consumers, and used in everyday life.
Howard Lee, president of Discovery Networks, said in a statement: “The Last Lumberjack takes us deep into the remote wilderness, where brave and highly skilled lumberjacks literally risk their lives, a story rarely explored. It’s a risky business, and it makes for incredibly compelling television.”
“The Last Woodsmen” premieres Friday, November 15th at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
