McAllen, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Homes and businesses in McAllen and Harlingen may soon receive fiber-optic Internet service from Lubbock-based Vexus Fiber.
The company announced this month that “ultimate high-speed 100% fiber optic internet is now available in the Rio Grande Valley,” naming the regions of Harlingen and McAllen. The company started building a network in the Valley.
According to the company, Vexus Fiber serves Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico, and is now expanding into the Valley market. Texas cities with Vexus Fiber include Lubbock, Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Abilene, and areas surrounding these communities.
The company is building new networks in the Rio Grande Valley, Tyler, Nacogdoches, Huntsville, Laredo and San Angelo.
This 10 Gigabit network is privately funded by Vexus and connects homes and businesses to the company’s symmetric multi-gigabit speed Internet service.
Vexus Fiber CEO Jim Gleason said: “As a company headquartered in Lubbock, it is great to continue to invest in this great state. Now you can experience an Internet connection that is fast and supports all your Internet needs.”
According to the company, residents of the first construction area can visit shop.vexusfiber.com to sign up for the installation service.
“Reliability, speed, and local support are the three things customers want most, and Vexus offers all three,” says Gleason. “We understand the number of families and businesses that rely on the internet in their daily lives and aim to make their experience seamless. People don’t have to worry about internet lag. With Vexus Fiber, you don’t have to.”
