Golden Gate Ferry announced on social media Friday afternoon that service had been suspended due to a “structural defect” at the Sausalito-bound pier.
Ferry service between San Francisco and the city at the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge will be replaced by buses for the remainder of the day, the ferry agency wrote on social media at 3:44 p.m.
Other details about the pier’s structural problems were not immediately available.
The 30-minute bus runs through the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal area at 4:20pm (SF to Sausalito), 5:05pm (Sausalito to Sausalito), 5:45pm (SF to Sausalito), and 6pm. I will leave at the time. 7:35pm (Sausalito to SF), 7:15pm (Sausalito to SF).
